A pair of suspected mail thieves were arrested on March 10, after being seen in the act.
At 3:45 p.m. on March 10, Prince George RCMP received a report of a mail theft in progress at an apartment building on 15th Avenue.
The witness said they saw the suspects get into a taxi, waiting outside the building. RCMP arrived and located the taxi a short distance away from the apartment, according to a statement released by police.
One of the suspects was inside the taxi, while the second suspect was located down the street from the taxi. Police found mail and other items belonging to a number of victims on the suspects, as well as a large key ring with a variety of keys on it.
The man and woman were arrested and taken to the RCMP detachment.
"Both suspects were released with future court dates, while police process the evidence and obtain surveillance of the theft," RCMP spokesperson Cst. Jennifer Cooper said.
The theft remains under investigation.
