Police make arrests at residence on Redwood Street

On Jan. 4 at approximately 3:20 p.m.

On Jan. 4 at approximately 3:20 p.m., members of the Prince George RCMP's Downtown Enforcement Unit with the assistance of the detachment's drug section, executed a search warrant on a residence located on the 1700 block of Redwood Street in Prince George.

A 26 year old male and a 21 year old female were arrested in the residence. Both are residents of Prince George and are well known to police.

Upon search of the residence, investigators located a quantity of both cocaine and heroin, as well as a high-capacity magazine for a hand gun. This magazine is a prohibited device in Canada.

Charges of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited device have been approved against Chad Patrick Poitras. He has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance scheduled for Jan. 25. Police will be recommending the same charges against the female, who was released on a promise to appear for court on March 7.
