Police looking for owners of stolen items

Prince George RCMP have some stolen items to return to their owners after arresting six youths believed responsible for a long string of thefts from vehicles in the west side of Prince George.

Prince George RCMP have some stolen items to return to their owners after arresting six youths believed responsible for a long string of thefts from vehicles in the west side of Prince George.

The youths - six boys and six girls, ages 13 to 15 years old - were apprehended early Tuesday morning after police were called to the Westgate area.

Police also recovered a long list of items believed to have been stolen from over 50 vehicles, including sunglasses, GPS units, CDs and DVD players.

The owners will not only get their items back but will help police with their investigation, Cpl. Craig Douglass said, because they will be able to gather additional information about where the items were stolen.

"There is a good possibility that some of these items were taken from other areas of College Heights," Douglass said.

To report a theft from a vehicle or claim an item, contact the Prince George RCMP by calling 250-561-3300 or dropping by the detachment at 999 Brunswick St.
