The RCMP are continuing their investigation into the March 15 fatal collision that claimed the life of a Prince George woman and are asking witnesses and others who may have information on the crash to step forward.
Leanne Marie Burchill, 20, died at the scene, following what police and the coroners service have described as a head-on collision between two pickup trucks on Highway 97 near Ten Mile Lake, north of Quesnel at about 9:15 a.m.
Police have also said southbound traffic had come to a stop and formed a lineup while waiting for a tow truck at the scene on an unrelated incident to complete its work.
But the driver of one of the pickups decided to pull into the northbound lane to go around the lineup and ended up in the path of the oncoming vehicle.
Three other people, two of them from the other pickup and the driver of the vehicle Burchill was in, were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
RCMP issued a call for help late last week, saying that anyone with information that may assist the investigators is asked to contact Cst. Ryan Arthur, Quesnel RCMP at 250-992-9211 or call CRIMESTOPPERS at 1-800- 222 TIPS (8477).
