A local RCMP member was determined to nab his suspects this week, resorting to a foot chase to get the job done.

On Aug. 26 at approximately 2:50 a.m., the officer was on patrol in a residential neighbourhood near Selwyn Crescent and Pilot Street when he observed four males breaking into vehicles.

The RCMP member approached the suspects. Upon identifying himself and advising that they were under arrest, all four ran and a foot chase ensued.

The officer caught three of the suspects, a 19-year-old male, an 18-year-old male and a 17-year-old male, all Prince George residents.

Four vehicles were confirmed to have been entered and the doors to approximately 20 were tried. A golf club and a wrist watch were among the items stolen from vehicles and returned to their owners.

All three were released on a promise to appear with conditions, for court on Dec. 7. Charges of mischief, theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime and obstruct peace officer will likely be recommended to crown counsel against all three.

The investigation is continuing.
