Police bust crack shack

Police came down on another suspected drug house this morning, executing a search warrant on a residence in the 1100 block of Douglas Street at 1 a.m.

Police came down on another suspected drug house this morning, executing a search warrant on a residence in the 1100 block of Douglas Street at 1 a.m.

Officers from the Prince George RCMP's general duty D watch recovered $1,000 worth of crack cocaine, along with hundreds of pills, more than half a pound of marijuana, brass knuckles and quantity of cash.

A 37-year-old Prince George man was taken into custody. He has since been released on bail with numerous conditions, but police are recommending charges of possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking and possession of a stolen weapon among other charges. Investigators will be working to identify the large varieties of pills also seized.

The police officers acted on information provided by members of the community who were outrage about the active drug trafficking in their neighbourhood. The RCMP wishes to thank those persons for providing the information which lead to the closure of an active crack shack.
