A 16-year-old Quesnel girl, struck by a vehicle Jan. 11, walked away from the collision, but suffered from whiplash, concussion, swelling and a head laceration.

Neither the girl nor the vehicle that struck her remained at the scene of the accident at the Carson and Front streets intersection.

Police would like to speak to the driver of the vehicle, described by witnesses as a light coloured four-door sport utility style vehicle, which was driven by an older Caucasian male wearing glasses.

Police are urging the driver of the vehicle and anyone witnessing the collision to call Quesnel RCMP at 250-992-9211.

Here's one for the books from Burns Lake.

When police responded to a call about a suspicious truck stuck in snow in a residential driveway, they learned the driver of the truck had went to the residence to ask for help to get his truck out.

When the driver told the homeowners his truck was stuck, they came out ready to assist him only to discover the stuck truck belonged to them.

The male suspect then fled on foot and police soon located him in a different vehicle ... one that was stuck in the snow about 200 meters from the first stuck truck.

The man was arrested and an investigation is underway.
