UPDATED: Polaris Montessori School operations to resume Monday

School District No. 57 says students and staff will resume normal operations on Monday (March 11).

No other details have been released at this time. 

 

12:24 p.m.

Mounties are dealing with an unfolding event at Polaris Montessori School in Prince George. 

RCMP say they have received information of threats directed at the elementary school. 

Police are in constant dialogue with School District 57 and have recommended the school be evacuated.

There has been no specific threat to any individual and as a precautionary measure, students and staff will be sent away to College Heights Elementary school.

Parents will be contacted by school staff to make arrangements for pickup and if parents and or guardians want to pick up their children, they can do so at College Heights Elementary. 

Police are actively working to determine the exact source of the threat and ask that parents do not go near Polaris Montessori School. 

RCMP are also reminding everyone to be mindful of driving and obey all rules of the road.
