Those looking to start 2016 with a clean slate can wash away the previous year with the coldest bath on offer.

Ness Lake Bible Camp's 15th annual Polar Bear Dip returns on Jan. 1 for those brave enough to strip down and bear the frosty Ness Lake waters.

The annual fundraiser begins with check in at 2 p.m. at the Welcome Centre (the log building in the parking lot). At 2:30 dippers meet in the gym to judge costumes and go over safety rules before heading out to the shore.

For those looking to just watch the madness, don't dawdle because the whole thing is over in a brisk seven minutes.

The main event is followed by free hot chocolate and cinnamon buns for everyone.

There is a $20 entry fee for participants, but that fee is waived for anyone who raised more than $20 in pledges.

Prizes are also on offer for best costume and top youth fundraiser.

Money raised from this event goes toward the organization's camper sponsorship fund to help families who would not otherwise be able to send their kids to Ness Lake Bible Camp.

The 2015 Polar Bear dip raised about $7,000.

Pledge forms and general information is available online at www.nlbc.bc.ca and cheques should be made out to Ness Lake Bible Camp.
