School board trustees approved construction Tuesday of new playgrounds at Vanway and Giscome elementary schools this summer.
The playground at Vanway will cost $51,000 and the one at Giscome will cost $46,000, both to be covered by the schools' respective parent advisory councils. The school districts will be responsible for cost of maintenance once completed.
Both are metal and will replace old wood playgrounds in the same locations.
