Progress is being made on easing the Burns Lake doctor shortage.
Two of the town's three remaining doctors have rescinded resignation of their hospital privileges as an "act of good faith" after Northern Health took steps to take over operation of the medical clinic and to bring in more physicians.
Doctors Alan Hill and Michael Graetz made the move when they met with Northern Health officials on Saturday while Dr. Lennard Pretorius remains set to leave the community of 2,700 people 226 kilometres west of Prince George at the end of this month.
"I have to say at this point in time that both Dr. Graetz and myself remain determined to stay on and support the medical care of the people of Burns Lake," Hill said when reached Tuesday.
