The group pushing for the city to reconsider their idea to sell the Pine Valley golf course for commercial development is looking to gather support.

Golf centre users and advocacy group Friends of Pine Valley will hold a rally at the course on May 22 at 6 p.m.

The mayor and members of council have been invited, said organizer Don Chamberlain, and attendees are hoping to be able to provide input on the decision council will make on the future of the golf course.

A putting contest will be held during the event and hot dogs and refreshments will be available for purchase.

"Council will soon be discussing the sale in a closed meeting," said Chamberlain, whose Friends of Pine Valley group has appeared twice before council in the past six months. "Therefore it is imperative that our community give input now if we wish to provide council with our opinions."
