Five puppies landed at the Prince George International Airport last week, flown in from a remote community as the first of several planned rescues of dogs in trouble.
That mission is in the planning stages. Organizers at the Prince George Humane Society plan have rented large vans and plan to head north to the isolated community, 11 1/2 hours by road from Prince George, to bring more dogs back for treatment and eventual adoption.
Meanwhile, the first five are at the Prince George Humane Society.
While preparations continue for the trip, organizers are searching for donations and people interested in fostering and adopting animals brought back to Prince George. The Prince George Humane Society can be contacted at 250-640-7415 or through their website at www.pghumanesociety.ca.
