A company dubbed as Canada’s largest speciality toy and children’s book retailer is expanding into B.C.’s northern capital with the announcement of its latest store opening.
Mastermind Toys is coming onto the Prince George pop-culture scene by opening a location within the RiverPoint Landing plaza off Highway 16 this May long weekend, bringing the business’ total to almost 70 stores nation-wide.
The new 4,000 sq. ft building (3034 Recplace Dr.) where they’ll be situated is within the same lot as PetSmart, Party City, and Marble Slab Creamery.
“We are thrilled to extend our reach in British Columbia, and are excited to offer families in Prince George and the surrounding communities with a fun new store to find the best hand-picked selection of specialty toys, games, and books,” said CEO and Chief Merchant Jon Levy in a news release, who also co-founded the company 35 years ago with his brother Andy.
This is Mastermind Toys’ sixth B.C. store its opened since 2013 and its first expansion to the northern region offering in-store and online services.
Notable popular products on the shelves include Hansa plush animals, Magformers building toys, LEGO, and PLAYMOBIL.
“Customers looking for the perfect present for the kids on their list will now have the opportunity to enjoy the Mastermind Toys shopping experience in a colourful, energetic and friendly shopping environment,” added Levy in his statement.
Mastermind Toys will host a launch party later this summer, June 13 to 16 and more information is available on the company website.
