Prince George Free Press editor Bill Phillips has been named vice president of the Prince George Chamber of Commerce.
Phillips has served on the chamber's board of directors since March 16 and has been an active member of several chamber committees, including public relations and advocacy. The vice-president position had been left vacant at the chamber's last AGM.
"Bill Phillips has proved to be an incredible asset to our chamber board with regards to his level of dedication to the governance and activities of the chamber," chamber president Guarav Parmar said. "The amount of community and business knowledge he brings from his work and connections to our city makes him a natural fit. We are thrilled he accepted the position."
Phillips and has lived in Prince George for five years. Prior to coming to Prince George, he was the long-standing editor of the Williams Lake Tribune.
