PGAA hires operations manager

The Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA) has hired a new operations manger. Jamie Smith, who starts work here on Aug. 29, was most recently the manager of the airport in High Level, Alta.

The Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA) has hired a new operations manger.

Jamie Smith, who starts work here on Aug. 29, was most recently the manager of the airport in High Level, Alta. and has experience in operations and maintenance at airports in Fort McMurray, Alta. and Buttonville, Ont. and Toronto's Pearson International Airport.

He also spent some time with Voyageur Airways in North Bay, Ont.

Smith moves into a position vacated when Kuyler Green was promoted to operations director in 2008, when Mark Miller left the PGAA to become the chief executive officer at Prince George Family Y.

Smith's hiring was announced Monday.
