Seven Prince George resident residents received their Chartered Professional Accountant and Certified General Accountant designations at a convocation ceremony held Saturday at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
They are Joshua Benham, Kristen Lund, Robin Lund, Cara Moleski, Donna O'Bee, Ramandeep Sandhu, Robert Saro, and Manmohan Sindhi.
To qualify as a CGA, students must have a university degree or equivalent, 24 months of practical work experience at a professional level, and complete courses through the CGA program. CGAs must also pass a comprehensive rigorous national final exam to earn their designation.
B.C.'s professional accounting bodies - the Institute of Chartered Accountants of B.C., the Certified General Accountants Association of B.C., and the Certified Management Accountants Society of B.C. - are working to establish the Chartered Professional Accountants of B.C. (CPABC).
Currently, accounting bodies representing all of Canada's professional accountants in every jurisdiction are committed to unification or have already merged under the CPA banner.
