Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations minister Steve Thomson announced on Wednesday the reappointment of four board members to the board for terms of two years each.

The appointees are all returning members with long standing professional connections to the forest industry: Andrea Lyall, Dave Patterson, Bill Dumont, and Nash.

"Nash is a well-known outdoorsman and naturalist with extensive experience in forestry, wilderness conservation and recreation matters in northern B.C.," said Thomson. "He has participated in a range of natural resource planning, advisory and steering committees."

There are eight members on the board, collected from a diversity of regions and professions across the provincial forestry spectrum. In addition to Nash, Prince George is also represented by Bill McGill, the current Prince George Chamber of Commerce president and a professor of ecosystem science at UNBC. Furthermore, Patterson is a former Williams Lake resident and the current board chair is former Prince George and Houston resident Al Gorley.

The Forest Practices Board is B.C.'s independent watchdog for sound forest and range practices, reporting its findings and recommendations directly to the public and government.
