Paws for a Cause a parade of pets

Paws for a Cause, a major fundraiser for the BC SPCA, will be held Sunday, Sept. 12 at Cottonwood Island Park. Registration begins at noon and participants can have their faces painted by Handsome Cabin Boy Tattoo artists.

Paws for a Cause, a major fundraiser for the BC SPCA, will be held Sunday, Sept. 12 at Cottonwood Island Park.

Registration begins at noon and participants can have their faces painted by Handsome Cabin Boy Tattoo artists. Children can visit the Two Rivers Art Gallery table and make a place mat for their favourite pet.

After the walk there are doggie games and a doggie cake donated by Dog Gone Bakery. There will also be a barbecue lunch available and live music provided by Josh Sandu and Raghu Lokanathan.

There are several prizes to be won, including for top fundraiser in B.C. - four tickets to anywhere WestJet flies. Top adult for Prince George wins one night accommodation at the Coast Inn of the North with dinner at Winston's, a family photo session at Your Mind's Eye, and two hours of tattoo time at Handsome Cabin Boy Tattoo.

Top youth will receive a pizza party for six at Boston Pizza on Central, plus a gift certificate for Books & Co.

Top team - up to six people - will receive a night of bowling with drinks and nachos at Strike Zone.

Minimum donation to participate in Paws for a Cause for an adult is $25, $10 for youth.
