Paving season starts

The city kicked off its paving program Wednesday, a $7-million project to rehabilitate area roads and sidewalks.

Weather permitting, the following projects should be completed by next Thursday:

Foothills Boulevard South between First and Fifth Avenues (estimated cost $373,000).

Killoren Crescent between Fifth Avenue and Hunter Avenue (estimated cost $65,000).

Ewert Street between Eighth and 10th Avenues (estimated cost $59,000).

Spruce Street between 20th and Milburn Avenues (estimated $75,000).

North Nechako Road between Sydney Place and Highway 97 (estimated cost $168,000).

Massey Drive eastbound between Coyle Street and Ospika Boulevard (estimated cost $65,000).

Continental Way between 2011paving limit and Industrial Way (estimated cost $216,000).

In total, there are 51 road rehab projects scheduled for completion between now and October.

Motorists are advised to look for alternate routes where possible and drive with caution around road crews.
