Expect delays of up to 20 minutes on Highway 16 about 120 kilometres east of Prince George starting this Monday and continuing until the end of this month, due to a paving project in the area.
The stretch will be down to single-lane alternating from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday, according to Drive BC.
The project will resurface about 21 kilometres between Driscoll Creek and Slim Creek.
Pittman Asphalt, a division of YCS Holdings Ltd., was awarded a $3-million contract to do the work, according to the Ministry of Transportation.
Also, single lane alternating is in place on Highway 16 West through Friday for bridge maintenance three kilometres west of Fraser Lake, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and for maintenance work from Burns Lake to Rose Lake, 27 kilometres to the west, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
And a detour is in effect 29.5 kilometres east of the junction with Highway 5, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., due to construction work.
Meanwhile, construction work 15 kilometres east of Vanderhoof will continue through to Thurs., Sept. 12, round-the-clock, every day but Sunday, also reducing Highway 16 West to single lane alternating in that area.
