Two resurfacing projects for Highway 16 are in this summer's job jar.
One is for a 36-kilometre stretch between Josephine Road, west of Prince George, and Hillcrest Way, east of Vanderhoof.
Peters Brothers Construction Ltd. from Penticton has been awarded the $8.6-million contract.
The other is for 20 kilometres, from West Twin Creek to Bell Mountain Road, about 15 kilometres northwest of McBride.
This project was originally scheduled for last summer but was delayed due to the wildfires.
Hot-in-place recycled asphalt will be used. Green Roads Recycling Ltd. from Fernie has been awarded the $2.3-million contract.
Work on both projects is scheduled to start June and be completed in the fall.
Drivers are asked to follow the instructions of traffic control personnel and traffic signs and check DriveBC for updates.
