A number of road repair, resurfacing, and sealcoating projects in the Prince George and Nechako Lakes area are going to tender, according to the provincial government.
The repair and resurfacing projects include 16 kilometres of Tachie Road, segments of Isle Pierre Road and Red Rock Road West, and three kilometres of Highway 97 from the Highway 16 intersection to Fifth Avenue in Prince George.
Sealcoating will be applied to 26 kilometres of roads in the Clucluz Lake area east of Vanderhoof, in the Blackwater area west of Prince George and in the McBride and Tete Jaune area.
Sealcoating involves spraying an emulsified mixture of asphalt and water onto the existing surface, then spreading a layer of gravel over the surface and compacting and embedding it into the asphalt with rollers.
The work will begin in late June and early July and is scheduled to be completed by the end of September.
