A man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant is back in custody.
Dustin Fagen Plourde, 32, was apprehended Thursday evening while North District RCMP traffic services was conducting a vehicle check on Highway 97 near Red Rock.
Plourde, who was the passenger in the vehicle, co-operative and arrested without incident, RCMP said.
A warrant for Plourde's arrest had been issued April 3 after the parolee failed to return to his designated residence in the city.
In 2013, Plourde was sentenced to six years in prison for firing a shotgun at a Kimberly home. In 2011, he was sentenced to four years in prison for attacking a Calgary cab driver with a machete.
The woman who was driving the car was found to be prohibited from driving and was issued a notice to appear in court at a later date. She was also issued tickets for failing to display a front licence plate and for failing to secure a child in a booster seat.
The vehicle was impounded and police transported the woman and children back to Prince George.
