A knifepoint robbery of the Parkwood Save-On Foods triggered a police pursuit through the streets of Prince George Friday night.

Reports said RCMP were hunting a tattooed six-foot-one Caucasian male with a black hoodie who fled the downtown supermarket shortly after 10 p.m. after threatening a cashier with a boxcutter and taking $1,000 to $2,000. Witnesses later told police the male ran to a nearby Dollar Store, where he was picked up by a dark blue, possibly Ford minivan.

It was also reported a boxcutter was discovered by police near the Dollar Store.

The suspect was described as a Caucasian male, 22-24-years-old, six-foot-one, no facial hair, "dirty", with a black hoodie and a baseball cap.

Reports indicated police tracked a possible suspect to North Kelly Road.
