Fraser-Fort George Regional District will host an open house for its draft parks plan on Monday at the Civic Centre, 7-8:30 p.m.
The plan sets out $1.3 million worth of improvements and expansion over the next 10 years.
Priority areas include road signs and facility improvements at all sites, restoration of a steep bank at Cedarside Park, completion of renovations at Koeneman Park, development of the north portion of McMillan Creek and mitigation of lakeshore erosion at Ness Lake Park.
Future potential parks have been identified in Tabor Lake area, Hixon area, Horseshoe Lake near McBride and McKirdy Road near Valemount.
The open house is part of a final round of consultation before the plan is taken back to FFGRD directors for final approval in September.
"We want to be sure that we have captured the feedback and that the plan is a true reflection of
what residents in the region want to see from their regional parks," FFGRD environmental services general manager Petra Wildauer said in a press release.
Copies of the plan and an online survey to provide comment can be found at www.rdffg.bc.ca. Hard copies of the survey are also available at municipal offices and libraries in Prince George, Valemount and McBride.
