Ted and Carol Hurlston tour the Lithium One Lead Home at 2930 Vista Ridge in 2016 as part of the Canadian Home Builders' Association of Northern BC Parade of Homes. This year's Parade of Homes takes place on Sunday.

The annual Parade of Homes hosted by the Canadian Home Builders' Northern B.C. will be held Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

People who are interested in renovating their current home or perhaps purchasing a new build, can get some fresh ideas by checking out a variety of homes in the community, beginning with the home base house at 4096 Brink Place, in the Nechako View subdivision.

The day begins with a free pancake breakfast offered by RONA between 9 a.m. and noon. Grab a coffee to go and a map to drive yourself or climb aboard the free parade bus. The bus departs home base at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Come early to make sure you get a seat.

"We visit all the homes on the map and as we approach each one I have the opportunity to introduce the company and provide a builder profile along with a quick overview of each home," Terri McConnachie, executive officer for the Canadian Home Builders' Association Northern B.C., said. "Folks enter contests and win prizes while we travel. It's a ton of fun."

People who are looking for a later start can take advantage as the Northern Regional Construction Association hosts a free hot dog lunch from noon until 2 p.m. at the home base.

Shaw is hosting a parade scavenger hunt with clues hidden in each of the homes on the map and a chance to win a prize. Contest forms are available at the home base.

One of the homes to be seen during the Parade of Homes is the 2019 Hospice Dream Home lottery house built by Lithium One Construction.

This is a free event and no registration is required.
