One COVID-related death was reported in the Northern Health region over the weekend, according to data released by the B.C. Centre for Disease Control on Monday.
The death brings the region’s death toll from the pandemic to 266.
Sixty-eight new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the region from Saturday to Monday, the B.C. CDC reported. As of Monday, there were 240 active cases of COVID-19 in the region – down by three from Friday.
As of Monday, 13 Northern Health residents were hospitalized with COVID-19, of which eight were listed in intensive care.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 18,055 cases of which 17,542 people have recovered.
A total of 410,617 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the Northern Health region.
Northern Health recently reported a COVID exposure at Spruceland Elementary School. The exposure took place between Nov. 29 and Dec. 3, and again from Dec. 6 to Dec. 8.
