A 52-year-old Prince George camper has been found, Prince George RCMP said Wednesday afternoon.
Police called on the public's help after Robert Allen Andrist hadn't been seen since Canada Day.
"At approximately 12 p.m., the overdue camper was located and is in good health," the release said.
Andrist was believed to have left the city by himself and has not returned home or to work, where he was expected this week.
Prince George RCMP said he drove off in his black 1992 Toyota 4Runner and may have been headed to Seebach Forest Service Road area or possibly to Pass Lake or Otter Lake.
"Although Andrist is an experienced camper, he has a medical condition and may need help. It is unusual for him to return late," Wednesday’s morning release said. “Extensive patrols have been made without success."
The Prince George Search and Rescue Society is also helping with the search and police are calling on the public to look for Andrist or his car, with a BC licence plate CW212F. If anyone has information, contact the Prince George RCMP at (250) 561-3300.
When going outdoors, it's important to prepare for the conditions and plan for the unexpected, the released said.
"Always bring extra clothes, matches, a flashlight, a first aid kit and water with you. Ensure that someone knows your plans before you leave and whenever possible, don't go alone."
