Outside officer should investigate allegations against Prince George RCMP, says B.C. Civil Liberties Association

An officer from outside the Prince George RCMP detachment should be assigned to investigate a local aboriginal woman's allegations of sexual assault against several detachment officers, says the B.C. Civil Liberties Association.

An officer from outside the Prince George RCMP detachment should be assigned to investigate a local aboriginal woman's allegations of sexual assault against several detachment officers, says the B.C. Civil Liberties Association.

"These allegations are among the most serious a person can make," BCCLA president Robert Holmes said in a press release issued Wednesday.

"To suggest that it is fair and appropriate to ask a new police officer at that detachment to investigate people that she has to work with for months or years afterwards is unfair to her and unfair to the complainant."
