A Prince George drug mule couldn't keep a lid on his dope supply because he didn't keep a lid on his head.
The 24-year-old suspect was riding a bicycle in the 2400 block of Tamarack Street when a passing police officer noticed he lacked a helmet, contrary to the Motor Vehicle Act. The Mountie stopped the rider intending to cite him for this infraction.
"The investigating officer detected a strong odour of marijuana emanating from the cyclist's backpack," said Prince George RCMP media liaison officer Gary Godwin.
"A subsequent search of the backpack revealed 335 grams of dried marijuana, 25 tablets of ecstasy, and 1.65 grams of crystal methamphetamine. A prohibited, fully charged, conducted energy weapon [Tazer], was found, in a cell phone like case, on the accused's belt."
Now, in addition to the helmet ticket, the bike rider also faces charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the weapons section of the Criminal Code.
