There are no doubt going to be more and more holiday parties with each passing day as Christmas is right around the corner.

Operation Red Nose Prince George is once again prepared to offer safe rides home (by donation) to those who party on weekends.

This weekend (Dec. 14 and Dec. 15), there will be a total of 18 teams on the roads for both nights.

To date, 342 rides have been logged in Prince George (216 on weekend one and 126 on weekend two). The highest record for weekend three is 273 (111 on night five and 163 on night six), back in 2014.

If you require a safe ride home on either night, call 250-962-7433 between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m. Your vehicle must have valid B.C. license plates.

Donations go toward youth and amateur sports organizations in Prince George.

Operation Red Nose still needs volunteers to help out on New Year's Eve. As of now, only 16 teams are signed up.

“That number needs to be at least doubled to meet the demand for rides we expect,” spokesperson Andrea Johnson says in a press release. “It means at least another 48 volunteers are needed, whether they’ve only volunteered with us one night or are former clients.”

If you are interested, next Wednesday (Dec. 19) is the deadline to drop off an application at the Prince George RCMP detachment, at 455 Victoria St. The applications, which include a criminal record check, is available online at www.ornpg.ca.
