Operation Red Nose is ready to take Prince George drivers home for its second weekend

Do you have a holiday party this weekend or any fun plans? Do you know how you’re going to get home?

Well, Operation Red Nose is here to help you get home safe!

The organization is going to have 18 teams out on the road Friday (Dec. 6) and another 14 teams out on Saturday (Dec. 7) to provide safe rides home to party goers for its second weekend of 2019.

On the second weekend in 2018, 15 teams delivered 104 rides on the Friday and 18 teams delivered 112 rides on Saturday night.

The highest number of rides Operation Red Nose provided on the second weekend is 143 rides (95 on night three and 148 on night four) in 2014.

So far after two nights in 2019, Operation Red Nose has given 98 rides to passengers, which included 41 on Friday, Nov. 29 and 57 more on Saturday, Nov. 30.

Those who require a safe ride home can call 250-962-7433 between 9 p.m. and 3 a.m.

Clients must have a vehicle with valid B.C. license plates.

All donations go towards youth and amateur sports organizations in Prince George.

As for volunteers, 170 people have signed up to help out in 2019.

More volunteers are still needed, especially for New Year’s Eve. Those interested in helping out can apply online at www.ornpg.ca, which includes a Criminal Record Check. Volunteers who’d like to be part of a road team must be 19 years old and have a valid B.C. driver’s license.
