The Prince George Fire Rescue Service is kicking off fire prevention month with an open house at Fire Hall No. 2 on Saturday.
The hall is located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and Ospika Boulevard and the event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
There will be demonstrations of fire safety educational tools, such as the hazard house and portable fire extinguisher trainer, as well as fire safety tips and information related to smoke alarms, extinguishers and escape planning.
There will also be giveaways for both children and adults.

Also, the names of four children will be drawn for Fire Chief for a Day and will be the centre of celebrations on Oct. 15. Entry forms for the draw available in fire prevention information PGFRS began dropping off last week at Kindergarten through Grade 3 classes at elementary schools within city limits.
