A two-storey townhouse complex in the 6400 block of Dawson Road was reported on fire with Prince George Fire Rescue crews responding from three halls at about 2:45 a.m. Friday.
When crews arrived they found smoke coming from the kitchen of one of the units.
The fire, due to cooking, was quickly extinguished and a lone occupant and two cats were accompanied out of the building.
The occupant was taken to hospital with smoke inhalation.
Damage is estimated at $50,000. No other units were damaged.
There were no injuries to fire personnel.
