Brian Campbell couldn't believe the news he got Thursday morning when his wife passed him the phone. The phone call revealed The Campbells were chosen as the winners of the The Prince George Citizen and Integris Credit Union's Live Free contest and as such will have their mortgage paid for the next 12 months.

"I've been entering this contest every year and I've never won anything. I think I'm still in shock," said Campbell.

The couple just finished paying off their mortgage so they will be putting the money towards other things. Brian, a retired elementary school teacher, will be putting the extra cash towards a holiday in a sunny destination and predicts summer will be "bigger and better this year."

"It's totally unexpected. We haven't made any concrete plans, I've just been giggling all day," he said.

"Since joining Live Free as presenting sponsor 14 years ago, Integris Credit Union has helped many, many people by providing real financial flexibility," said Brian Bentley, CEO, Integris Credit Union.

"Some contest winners opt to pay down debt while others increase personal savings. I've also heard that some have been afforded overdue vacations as a result of the win. That's what I love about this program - it helps people in the ways that matter to them. That resonates with us because at Integris, personalized solutions are what we're all about!" said Bentley.

"I think it's really gratifying to have Integris as a sponsor and the response has been incredible. We got more than 500,000 entries. It's a win-win for everybody," said Citizen publisher, Hugh Nicholson.

The 10-week contest offered both subscribers and non-subscribers a chance to share thousands of dollars in prizes including three-months, six-months and 12-months of mortgages payments.
