One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries after a five-car accident west of Prince George this morning (Feb. 4).

Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says Prince George RCMP were called to an accident on Highway 16 near Dahl Lake Road at roughly 8:30 a.m. today.

The area is also known as "potato flats."

Saunderson says a five-car chain-reaction collision occurred and weather and road conditions "may have played a role" in the accident.

One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Three commercial vehicles and two personal vehicles were involved and resulted in complete closure of the highway as crews worked to remove the vehicles off the road.
