A woman is dead while two men are injured following a collision on Highway 97 yesterday (Aug. 2) between Quesnel and Williams Lake.

Mounties were called near the 10700-block Highway 97 just before 1 p.m., says Sgt. Janelle Shoihet in a release.

Once officers arrived, they found the three victims.

RCMP say the initial investigation indicates there was a head-on collision after a northbound Ford Expedition crossed the centre line, colliding with a southbound Ford F350.

Shoihet says the driver of the Expedition suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a larger area hospital. The driver of the F350 sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

The female passenger of the F350 was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision is still under investigation.
