North District Traffic Services are investigating after a head-on collision claimed one life yesterday evening (Nov. 14).

Police say they attended a two-vehicle crash at 5:15 p.m. on Highway 16 near Norman Lake.

Once on scene, they learned a Toyota pickup had crossed the centre line and struck a Ford Escape head-on.

The driver of the Toyota, a 23-year-old man, died. Both occupants in the Ford Escape were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A press release says while police are investigating, causal factors are not known at this point.

The pickup truck was reported stolen out of Prince George a few weeks ago, according to the release.

The highway was shut down but has since reopened.

If you have any information on the crash, call RCMP at 250-649-4004.
