Prince George will see matchboxes, brooms, garbage cans and more blended together to create a stage show that’s equal parts dance, music and theatrical performance.
STOMP is bringing its unique international percussion show to Prince George as a part of their North American tour.
The group uses the body and ordinary objects to create a physical theatre performance using rhythms and acrobatics. STOMP, created by Steve McNicholas and Luke Cresswell, launched in 1991 in Brighton, U.K. as a street performance.
Over the past 20 years, STOMP has grown to become internationally recognized, with the group performing in more than 50 countries and in front of more than 24 million people.
Now STOMP continues its longstanding run with four global productions: the ongoing sell-out production at New York's Orpheum Theatre, a permanent London company, and North American and European tours.
STOMP will perform for one night only on Monday, Jan. 28, 2019 at the CN Centre. Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday, Oct. 12 at 10 a.m.
The show has earned an Academy Award nomination, four Emmy nominations and one Emmy Award for their acclaimed HBO special Stomp Out Loud. Their noteworthy TV appearances include the London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony, the Academy Awards, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, and a series of international commercials.
