Canadian television icon Red Green, from The Red Green Show, is coming to Prince George for his latest one-man show.
He won’t roll into town until September 2019, but tickets go on sale Nov. 1.
His latest performance features some brand new handyman projects, advice to married guys and teenaged boys, tips on getting old, an apology to the world on behalf of all baby boomers, with special contributions from Harold and a couple of other cast members talking animals and a final wish from Red Green to all of his loyal fans.
The Red Green Show aired from 1991 to 2006 and was essentially a cross between a sitcom and sketch comedy series mixed with a parody of home-improvement and do-it-yourself shows.
Red Green, played by Steve Smith, is a handyman who tries to find shortcuts to most of his projects and is the president of Possum Lodge, a fictional men’s club in the small northwestern Ontario town of Possum Lake.
Red Green will grace the stage at Vanier Hall on Sept. 26, 2019, as a part of what could be his last tour across Canada and the United States, before he retires or “takes a long look at his birth certificate and decides not to keep pushing his luck.”
