Do you often long for a simpler time when your favourite playlists were brought to you on a shiny and easy-to-use compact disc?

Way back in the 1990s and early 00s, before Spotify or any kind of streaming, Big Shiny Tunes, produced by MuchMusic, was arguably the best compilation mix on the market.

Here to re-create the magic CFURadio and Mad Loon Entertainment are hosting a Big Shiny Tunes Tribute, where Prince George’s best and brightest will perform songs from the Big Shiny Tunes compilation of CDs.

Cross your fingers because you might hear some Smash Mouth, Third Eye Blind, Foo Fighters, Radiohead or any one of the hundreds of artists to appear on the 14 editions of the Big Shiny Tunes discs.

It’s also going to be an all-ages show until 10 p.m. so you’ll be able to introduce a new generation to the magic of the compilation CD.

The whole thing takes place at the Cowboy Ranch (2595 Queensway) on April 13 and tickets are $15 dollars in advance and $20 at the door (door tickets are only $15 for UNBC Students and CFUR Society Members) and children under 10 are free.
