The Summer Solstice Festival takes place on June 21. (via Facebook/Northern Lights Estate Winery).

You can celebrate the longest day of the year in style during a free event at the Northern Estate Lights Winery.

The summer solstice takes place on Friday, June 21 and the winery is hosting a shindig to mark the occasion.

They are promising live music (with the bands still to be announced) as well as beer, wine and cocktails at their Summer Solstice Festival. They’ll also be food trucks on site including Col Juicery, White Goose Bistro, Frozen Paddle and Smokey J’s.

Not only is the event free but it’s family friendly, and you’ll get to enjoy the stunning views of the Nechako River. Just bring your own lawn chair!

The event starts at 4 p.m. and goes until 10:30 p.m. and the Northern Lights Estates Winery is located at 745 Prince George Pulpmill Road.

On Our Radar is just a thing we do when we're looking forward to an event or think the public should be aware of it. Think you have something for it? Email us at [email protected].
