Kiwanis AleFest Craft Festival Weekend is coming back to Prince George for its fifth consecutive year.
Craft beer lovers will be able to beat the winter blues because the three-part festival weekend returns this January.
The weekend will feature three tasting sessions at Two Rivers Gallery, two brewmaster’s dinners to choose from at the Ramada Plaza and Coast Inn of the North, and the Cask Beer Experience, which are non-ticketed auxiliary events at various downtown establishments.
Downtown Prince George will play host to the fifth annual event on Friday, Jan. 25 and Saturday, Jan. 26 but tickets go on sale as early as Saturday, Nov. 3 (8 a.m.) through the Kiwanis AleFest website.
The Two Rivers Gallery tasting sessions include six craft beer tasting tokens, free tapas, music, silent auction and 50/50 draw, and access to the art in the Rustad and Canfor galleries. Tickets for the brewmaster’s dinner portion of the weekend festivities include a full four-course meal infused and also paired with small-batch craft beers from around British Columbia. The dinners also sit guests face-to-face with the brewers that create delicious B.C. craft beer.
One of the most popular parts of the festival is the unticketed auxiliary events held at downtown Prince George establishments – called the Cask Beer Experience. It is a food-and-beer tour where people can taste some limited quantity, specially prepared cask-conditioned ales. Participants even have a chance to win a Kiwanis AleFest prize package.
Last year the local Kiwanis community service club was able to raise $50,000 in support of the Ronald McDonald House of British Columbia and other Kiwanis projects for kids and families in Prince George.
