November weather made winter fun possible

November brought just enough snow to the Prince George region to get cross-country skiers and snowmobilers out on the trails.

While it was snowy enough for downhill skiers and snowboarders at alpine resorts, most of which opened midway through the month, it wasn't quite cold enough to make an outdoor rink.

The big midweek dump that hit the city on Nov. 16-17 left about 25 centimetres of snow in its wake, causing headaches for motorists who struggled to get through unplowed streets. That led to a total snow amount of 38.5cm for the month, 106 per cent of normal amount for November.

The greatest snowfall in any one day in November in city history was 26.9 cm, set on Nov. 22, 1965.
