Northgate Minerals goes for the gold

Northgate Minerals, which is developing an underground mine project in northern B.C., has purchased a former gold-producing property in Ontario for $216,500. The property is located in the Matachewan Gold Camp near Timmins, Ontario.

The property is located in the Matachewan Gold Camp near Timmins, Ontario.

Northgate also assumes liability for a note payable on the property of $383,000.

Production ended recently at Northgate's Kemess South gold and copper mine in northern B.C.

The company is planning on spending $1.4 million this year on the Kemess North underground project to determine its feasibility.

Northgate also has a mine under construction already in Ontario, and has operations in Australia.
