If you've missed the gym, another is set to reopen its doors at the end of this month.

The Northern Sport Centre located at UNBC has announced it will be operational again as of Aug. 31 at 5 a.m.

Here are things to expect as per the centre:

  • Physical distancing cues
  • Enhanced facility and equipment cleaning measures
  • Additional hand sanitizers
  • Single-use equipment cleaning supplies
  • Closed change rooms
  • Machines spaced to ensure physical distancing
  • Smaller fitness classes
  • Single direction traffic control
  • Closed water fountains (bring your own water)

Some of the measures are temporary but some will also be permanent. Masks are currently not a requirement.

Programming will be available as of Sept. 14.

"As the Covid-19 situation evolves, so will our response," the announcement reads. "Your cooperation is key to the Northern Sport Centre’s successful re-open."

"We will only accept 100% compliance.  Members and users who fail to follow our guidelines will be asked to leave the facility and may not be welcome to return."
