Northern Health stays at 21 COVID-19 cases, B.C. total now 1,203

A total of 704 cases have recovered

B.C. has 29 new cases of COVID-19 and a total of 1,203 after an update from Dr. Bonnie Henry today in Victoria (April 4). 

Northern Health has no new cases and the total remains at 21 in the region. 

There are 554 cases in Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), 424 in Fraser Health, 76 on Vancouver Island and 128 in Interior Health while one more community outbreak in a long-term care facility was reported, bringing the total number to 23.

“This is an area of particular focus,” Henry said. 

There have also been three additional deaths, bringing the province's total number of fatalities to 38. 

Dr. Henry said a total of 704 have recovered from the virus. 

There are currently 149 people in acute care in hospital, with 68 of those individuals currently in intensive or critical care.
