There were 244 cases of COVID-19 reported in Northern Health Authority today (Jan. 7) for a total of 935 active cases.
In Northern Health there are currently 16 people hospitalized with the virus and three are in critical care.
While B.C. in total is reporting 3,144 new cases of COVID-19 and 33,184 active cases in the province. Of the active cases, 348 individuals are in hospital and 93 are in intensive care.
The remaining people are recovering at home in self-isolation.
In the past 24 hours there have also been nine new deaths in the province occurring in Fraser Health, Vancouver Coastal Health and Island Health.
The B.C. Centre for Disease Control says 88.5 per cent of eligible people 5 and older have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, 83.1 per cent have received their second dose, and 25.2 per cent of eligible adults have received a third dose.
