The Robson Valley health-care team received praise from Northern Health during a recent board meeting at Valemount. The focus was on how Dr. Ray Markham, nursing team and support staff have developed a system that allows area residents to access a fuller range of services focused on patient needs.
Dr. Charles Jago, board chair, said their leadership "provides a shining example of what we think can be accomplished in other northern B.C. communities."
On the financial side, despite having to cut about $5 million in the Interior service area and about $8.5 million in other NH service areas from this year's expenses, NH is continuing to forecast a balanced budget for the 2009-2010 fiscal year ending March 31.
